The experience was challenging as we are not regular hikers but we were lucky to have Jesús as guide, who helped us to find motivation and arrive to the end, also taking beautiful pictures of us being a professional photographer. Jesús is also a passionate story teller whom made our visit to Machu Picchu unforgettable by explaining us all the history of Machu Picchu.

De manhã saímos da cidade de Cusco (3350 manm), de trêm turístico. No caminho observaremos extensos campos cultivados e povoados importantes que, apesar dos anos, ainda mantêm as suas tradições e costumes, rodeadas por imponentes montanhas e glaciares. Entramos no Vale Sagrado dos Incas na direcção do quilómetro 82, onde nos encontraremos com todo o grupo antes de iniciarmos a excursão na clássica Trilha Inca. O local do almoço é determinado pelo guia dependendo do grupo (entre as aldeias de Miskay ou Llactapata), depois teremos a explicação do complexo arqueológico de Llactapata. Depois continuamos para a comunidade de Huayllabamba (3100 manm). E finalmente teremos o último trecho de ascenso ao capamento chamado Lluncachimpa (3300 manm) e/ou Huayllabamba (dependendo do campo designado pela autoridade do Ministério do Turismo).
Tempo de caminhada: 06 horas.
Alimentação: almoço e jantar.
Ao amanhecer, é o momento mais agradável para observar um cenário tão acolhedor e enigmático, por isso é o momento mais fresco para subir pelo vale Lluncachimpa (3300 m), Lulluchapampa (3850 m), até ao ponto mais alto desta secção chamada “Paso de Warmihuañusca” (4200 manm), onde observaremos uma vista impressionante do imponente “Nevado de la Verónica” e dos restos da Trilha Inca. Depois de um breve descanso descemos ao vale profundo de Pacaymayu (3500 m). Teremos ainda a outra parte da subida para a passagem de Runcuracay (3950 m), e desceremos para o complexo arqueológico de Sayacmarca e finalmente chegaremos ao nosso acampamento em Chaquicocha (3650 m).
Tempo de caminhada: 07 horas.
Refeições: café da manhã, almoço e jantar.
Teremos um belo dia de caminhada no meio de uma floresta tropical conhecida como Yunga. Visitaremos também importantes grupos arqueológicos de engenharia inca. Visitaremos os grupos arqueológicos de Phuyupatamarca (3600 m) e finalmente Wiñayhuayna (2650 m), local do nosso último acampamento.
Duração da caminhada: 07 horas.
Refeições: café da manhã, almoço e jantar.
Depois de termos tomado o café da manhã, por volta das 4:30 am, iremos com lanternas até a Porta do Sol (Inti Punku) 2780m, onde podemos observar o nascer do sol sobre Machupicchu e Wayna Picchu. Esse é o melhor moemento para desfrutar de todo o encanto cultural e natural da cidadela de Machu Picchu (2400 m). Depois teremos uma visita guiada na cidadela de Machu Picchu e depois tempo livre na cidadela antes de abordar o trêm de retorno a Cusco.

According to the Resolution #002-2004-UGM-CD, published in official newspaper El Peruano on Nov 12, 2004, modifying chapter III of the Inca Trail Regulation, which refers to Inca Trail space bookings. Bookings will be guaranteed by the government institutions when providing full names; nationalities and passport numbers of passengers; and when having paid the full amount of passengers and staff (cook and team of porters) entrance fees. **Since the Inca Trail has a maximum allowance of 500 people per day (including passengers and agency staff), we strongly recommend making your bookings, as much in advance as possible to make sure you will find spaces on the desired departure date. We are already receiving bookings for departures scheduled as far as one year prior to the trek departure date, so if you wish to travel with us to the Inca Trail, please make sure to confirm your booking as soon as possible.
