The experience was challenging as we are not regular hikers but we were lucky to have Jesús as guide, who helped us to find motivation and arrive to the end, also taking beautiful pictures of us being a professional photographer. Jesús is also a passionate story teller whom made our visit to Machu Picchu unforgettable by explaining us all the history of Machu Picchu.

Nuestro personal los esperará para iniciar nuestra visita al Salar de Uyuni, el desierto de sal más grande del mundo. La excursión comienza a hrs. 11:00 aproximadamente, desde las oficinas, inicialmente conoceremos el Cementerio de Trenes y Población de Colchani, lugares para conocer sobre la historia y el presente de Uyuni, luego ingresamos al maravilloso Salar de Uyuni, después de unos minutos de viaje a través de esta inmensa planicie blanca arribaremos al “Hotel de Sal” el primero de su género, que actualmente funciona como museo. En nuestro camino podremos observar fantásticas ilusiones ópticas que se acentúan en la época de lluvias (entre diciembre y marzo), también los “Ojos de Agua”, pequeñas erupciones de agua que nos ayudarán a conocer el proceso de formación de este infinito mar de sal. Al medio día arribamos a la Isla Incahuasi en el centro del salar, donde podremos observar grandes poblaciones de cactus, fósiles de rocas de mar y espectaculares vistas del salar desde la cumbre de la isla.
Luego de desayunar en la localidad de San Juan, atravesamos el salar de Chiguana (4200metros de altura). Iniciamos nuestro recorrido con dirección a la región volcánica de los Lípez, en ella se encuentra el Volcán Ollagüe que podremos observar a la distancia. Continuamos nuestro viaje hacia la Reserva Eduardo Avaroa, en el camino podremos observar las lagunas Hedionda, Cañapa y Honda con variedades de avifauna local. Posteriormente ingresaremos al “Desierto de Siloli” con paradas para tomar fotografías de los impresionantes paisajes que presenta este desierto, en él se encuentra la famosa formación llamada el “Árbol de Piedra”. Ingresamos a la Reserva de Fauna Andina Eduardo Abaroa y arribamos a la Laguna Colorada, donde es posible la observación de los 3 tipos de flamencos que existen en la región andina.
Empezamos el día muy temprano (sobre las 5:30 horas) para poder observar los géiseres del “Sol de la Mañana”, fumarolas y cráteres con lava volcánica. Después disfrutaremos de un baño en aguas termales, a pesar de la baja temperatura es una experiencia inolvidable. Continuamos nuestro viaje casi hasta la frontera con Chile, en Hito Cajón. En el camino disfrutaremos de la observación panorámica del “Desierto de Dalí” con rocas que se asemejan a la obra del gran pintor surrealista, además de visitar la Laguna Verde al pie del Volcán Licancabur.
Desde la Laguna Verde iniciaremos nuestro retorno a Uyuni, por la tarde caminaremos por el gran “Valle de las Rocas”, con restos de rocas volcánicas. Finalmente visitaremos el pueblo de San Cristóbal, pueblo trasladado en su totalidad a su ubicación actual para la construcción de la mina más grande de Bolivia. Llegada a Uyuni a las hrs. 18:00 aproximadamente, traslado al aeropuerto para abordar su vuelo con destino a La Paz. Llegada y traslado a su hotel.
