Early morning bird watching, where you will see how different birds gather in search of their morning food. You will be able to see species such as the Tuki (Jacana Jacana), Ringed Kingfisher (Ceryle-Torquata), Black-Collared Hawk (Busarellus nigricollis), among others. Return to the lodge for breakfast.
Visit to the Yaguas community where you will learn about their culture, customs, and traditions. You will have the opportunity to participate in the use of the “Pucuna” (blowgun), the main hunting instrument. Return to the lodge and lunch. In the afternoon, go on a traditional fishing expedition on one of the tributaries of the Amazon River, where you will learn about traditional fishing techniques, as well as piranha fishing. You can take your catch back to the lodge to be prepared for lunch. This excursion is the perfect opportunity to see pink river dolphins (Inia Geoffrensis). Return to the lodge to enjoy dinner.
At night, venture out on a nature walk within the lodge grounds and witness the enchanting transformation of the jungle into a nocturnal environment. As you adapt to the dark jungle environment, you will appreciate how nature takes on a different character and observe the diverse habits of nocturnal animals. This is the best time to see frogs, shy snakes, and other creatures that only move around at night. You will witness nocturnal wildlife that is so different from what is usually found during the day, accompanied by the magical symphony of the jungle, where the sounds of insects, birds, felines, and owls harmonize to give you a sensory experience. After this approximately 30-minute tour, we will return to the lodge to enjoy dinner and a pleasant rest.
After breakfast, transfer by boat to a lake on Yanamono Island, where you will be delighted by the majestic Victoria Regia, the queen of water lilies. Currently known as Victoria Amazonica, this flower is native to the shallow waters of the Amazon River basin and grows mainly in lakes and swamps. We will probably be able to see some white flowers on their first day of blooming, turning pink on their second day. This imposing lake and swamp plant can grow up to 1 meter in diameter and is pollinated by beetles. The Victoria Amazonica is well known for its huge circular leaf, which is usually shown with a child sitting in the center of the leaf to appreciate its size and strength. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, visit an Amazonian sugar mill, approximately a 10-minute boat ride away. During this visit, you will see how sugar cane extract is processed using traditional methods to obtain high-quality aguardiente with a texture, aroma, and flavor that you won’t find anywhere else. After seeing how this exquisite liquor is made, you will have the opportunity to taste exotic macerated drinks prepared with fruits, bark, and plants from the region. Return to the lodge. During the trip back, you will enjoy the last Amazonian sunset, bidding farewell to the wild and mysterious jungle that offers its colors and breeze like a caress. Dinner and overnight stay.
Breakfast and morning canoeing on the Amazon River, an activity that will allow you to safely paddle on the longest and most voluminous river in the world and immerse yourself in the flooded jungle or ravines, contemplating the richness and natural beauty of this green paradise that dresses up to show you its gratitude, filling your soul.
Return to the lodge for a farewell lunch. Check-out and transfer to Iquitos. Depending on the schedule of your return flight to Lima, you will be transferred to the airport.
