Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Quito
Airport reception and transfer to your hotel.
Night in Quito.
Day 02: Quito City Tour + Visit to the Middle of the World
Breakfast at the Hotel.
Early morning departure to the Historic Center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will visit the Basilica (entrance included to explore its towers and giant stained-glass windows), Plaza Grande, the Government Palace, and the Church of La Compañía de Jesús (entrance and guided tour included), followed by San Francisco Plaza and Church.
After visiting the “Winged Virgin” lookout at El Panecillo, we will transfer to the Middle of the World city.
There will be time for lunch before visiting the Equatorial Line Monument (included) and the Intiñán Museum (included).
Finally, we will offer a stop at the Teleférico for those who wish to visit it (on your own); otherwise, we return to the hotels.
Night in Quito.
Day 03: Quito – Baltra – Highlands – Twin Craters
Breakfast at the Hotel.
Early in the morning, pick-up and transfer to the airport for your flight to Baltra (not included).
Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to the shuttle bus heading to the Itabaca Channel.
After a short ferry crossing to Santa Cruz Island, we will head directly to Puerto Ayora, optimizing our schedule based on your flight arrival time.
In the afternoon, we begin our excursion to the Island Highlands.
We will visit a private ranch to observe giant tortoises in their natural habitat and explore impressive lava tunnels fascinating volcanic formations.
Finally, we will visit the Twin Craters to appreciate the endemic flora and the unique landscape. Return to the hotel.
Night in Puerto Ayora (Santa Cruz Island).
Day 04: Santa Cruz Island – Tortuga Bay – Hiking & Boat Excursions
Breakfast at the hotel.
In the morning, we set out on an expedition to Tortuga Bay, beginning with a guided hike along an ecological trail surrounded by endemic vegetation.
After a 40-minute walk, we will discover the spectacular Tortuga Bay, world-renowned for its pristine white sands and extensive mangroves.
We will enjoy some relaxation time at Playa Mansa, an ideal spot for snorkeling to observe tropical fish, marine iguanas, and sea lions.
For your comfort, the return to Puerto Ayora will be by a small boat, avoiding the return hike.
(Note: Please bring towels and personal gear from the hotel). Time for lunch.
In the afternoon, we will explore the Bay and Las Grietas.
We head to the pier to begin a boat tour of the bay, visiting Shark Channel to spot tintoreras (whitetip reef sharks), the romantic Love Channel, and Dogs Beach.
After a hike past ancient salt mines, we reach Las Grietas, a stunning inland sea arm nestled between towering volcanic cliffs.
We will conclude the day at Punta Estrada beach, the perfect setting to enjoy the sunset.
Night in Puerto Ayora (Santa Cruz Island).
Day 05: Santa Cruz Island – Tortuga Bay Beach
Breakfast at the hotel.
Very early in the morning, we will transfer to the Puerto Ayora pier to board the ferry to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno.
Upon arrival, our team will meet you at the ferry pier to transfer you to your selected hotel.
Next, we will visit the National Park Interpretation Center to learn about the fascinating geological and biological history of the archipelago.
Afterward, we will hike through the dry forest toward Tijeretas Hill, a strategic viewpoint for spotting frigatebirds, blue-footed boobies, and Nazca boobies.
We continue to La Lobería, an ideal spot for swimming and snorkeling alongside curious sea lions.
To end the day, we return via the beautiful Playa Carola, where we will enjoy a unique sunset surrounded by local wildlife.
Night in Puerto Baquerizo (San Cristóbal Island).
Day 06: San Cristóbal Island – El Junco – Galapaguera – Puerto Chino
Breakfast at the Hotel.
In the morning, we explore the San Cristóbal Highlands and coastline.
Our journey takes us northeast to the El Junco Lagoon, the only natural freshwater reservoir in the Galápagos.
Here, we will witness the fascinating sight of frigatebirds diving to wash the salt from their wings.
We continue to the Cerro Colorado Galapaguera, a center dedicated to the breeding and conservation of giant land tortoises.
We will hike through trails immersed in a semi-natural forest to learn about the vital efforts to repopulate this iconic species.
To round off the morning, we visit the paradisiacal Puerto Chino beach, where white sands and turquoise waters invite us to relax and spot blue-footed boobies.
In the afternoon, enjoy some free time to unwind at Playa Mann or stroll along the picturesque Puerto Baquerizo Moreno boardwalk, a vibrant area filled with local gastronomy and charming shops.
Night in Puerto Baquerizo (San Cristóbal Island).
Day 07: San Cristóbal Island – Quito or Guayaquil
Breakfast at the Hotel.
Pick-up and transfer to the airport for your return flight to Quito or Guayaquil.
