Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Cusco – City Tour & Nearby Inca Sites

Upon arrival in Cusco, our staff will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in the historic center.

You will have some time to rest and acclimatize.

In the afternoon, you will take a guided City Tour of Cusco.

The tour starts at the Basilica Cathedral.

This cathedral has amazing colonial art and masterpieces from the Cusco School of painting.

Next, you visit the Temple of the Sun (Qoricancha).

This was the most important Inca temple for the Sun God.

You can still see its perfect stonework under the colonial convent of Santo Domingo.

Afterwards, the tour continues outside the city to four important archaeological sites:

  • Sacsayhuaman – An imposing Inca fortress with giant stones that fit together with incredible precision.

  • Qenqo – A ceremonial center carved into rock, associated with rituals and astronomical observations.

  • Puka Pukara – A red stone complex believed to have served as a military and administrative control point.

  • Tambomachay – A sanctuary dedicated to water, with finely carved terraces and fountains that still flow.

At the end of the tour, transfer back to your hotel.

Night in Cusco.

Day 2: Sacred Valley of the Incas – Train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes (B, L)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Around 8:00 am we pick you up from your hotel to start a full-day excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Our first stop is Pisac.

It is known for its colorful handicraft market and impressive archaeological site.

This site has terraces, ceremonial areas, and the Intihuatana, which is the Inca sun clock.

You will have time to explore and enjoy the views.

We will continue to a local restaurant where you will enjoy an included buffet lunch with typical Andean and Peruvian dishes.

In the afternoon, we visit Ollantaytambo, an Inca town that still preserves its original urban layout.

Here you will explore the imposing fortress, built with huge stone blocks, and learn about its strategic, religious and military importance during the Inca period.

After the visit, we head to the train station in Ollantaytambo to board the train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town).

Upon arrival, reception at the station and short walk or transfer to your hotel.

Night in Aguas Calientes

Day 3: Machu Picchu – Guided Tour & Huayna Picchu Hike (B, L)

After an early breakfast at the hotel, we board the bus that takes us up the winding road to the citadel of Machu Picchu, a journey of about 30 minutes.

Upon arrival, you will enjoy a guided tour of approximately 2 to 3 hours, visiting the most important sectors:

  • Agricultural terraces

  • Main square

  • The Temple of the Sun

  • The Temple of the Three Windows

  • The Intihuatana (sacred stone)

  • Urban and religious areas

After the guided tour, the adventure continues with the Huayna Picchu hike (entrance included and guaranteed), the most requested walk inside Machu Picchu.

The ascent is steep but rewarding, taking you to spectacular viewpoints from where you can admire the citadel from above and take some of the most famous photos of the site.

At the end of the hike, you will go back down by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you will enjoy an included lunch in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, you must be at the train station at least 30 minutes before departure to board the train back to Cusco.

Upon arrival at the station, reception and transfer to your hotel.
