Come and try this unforgettable experience traveling the original Inca Trail to Machupicchu, the magical lost city of the Incas, reaching Machu Picchu through the Inti Punku or Sun Gate. One of the attractions of the trail is the granite Inca settlement Wiñay Wayna, surrounded by breathtaking natural scenery. The forests abound in hundreds of species of orchids, brightly-colored birds, and dream-like landscapes which are the ideal complement to this amazing hikers’ route.

If you do not have much time or do not feel physically prepared for the Inca trail for 4 days, this adventure is for you. 

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Wiñaywayna – Aguas Calientes

Early morning transfer from your hotel to the train station. We take the train to km 104, the starting point of the Short Inca Trail.

We will trek to the archaeological site of Wiñaywayna, where we will have a guided tour of the site and stop for lunch.

Our adventure then continues as we trek to IntiPunku, the “Sun Gate”, the entrance to Machu Picchu, from where we get our first view of the site.

We descend through the ruins of Machu Picchu to then catch a bus to Aguas Calientes town where we will have dinner and spend the night in a hostel.

Hiking Time: 06 hours.

Day 2: Aguas Calientes – Machupicchu – Cusco

Today we have more time to enjoy the Machu Picchu Sanctuary.

After an early breakfast at the hostel, we catch a bus up to Machu Picchu where we take a guided tour for approx. 2 hours.

You will then have free time to discover the sanctuary by yourself.

Later we take the bus back to Aguas Calientes to take the train back to Cusco.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR INCA TRAIL POLICIES

According to the Resolution #002-2004-UGM-CD, published in official newspaper El Peruano on Nov 12, 2004, modifying chapter III of the Inca Trail Regulation, which refers to Inca Trail space bookings. Bookings will be guaranteed by the government institutions when providing full names; nationalities and passport numbers of passengers; and when having paid the full amount of passengers and staff (cook and team of porters) entrance fees. (NON REFUNDABLE)

  1. The booking has been first confirmed by our Reservation Department by e-mail, this meaning that spaces are available on the Inca Trail for the requested date at the moment of the booking.
  2. The full passenger data have been provided and the required deposit has been paid for. (NON REFUNDABLE, NO CHANGES PERMITTED ON NAMES, DATES, ETC)

**Since the Inca Trail has a maximum allowance of 500 people per day (including passengers and agency staff), we strongly recommend making your bookings, as much in advance as possible to make sure you will find spaces on the desired departure date. We are already receiving bookings for departures scheduled as far as one year prior to the trek departure date, so if you wish to travel with us to the Inca Trail, please make sure to confirm your booking as soon as possible. Otherwise, we have also available alternative routes of equally awesome beauty and interest to offer to you.

**VERY IMPORTANT: The following client information is mandatory for any Inca Trail booking:

  1. Complete names and surnames
  2. Nationality
  3. Copy of Passport
  4. Date of Birth
  5. Gender

The exact information provided by you will be submitted to the governmental institution in charge of regulating the access to the Inca Trail and will be included in the official permit to enter the Inca Trail on the requested date. Should there be any change in the above-mentioned data (ie. New passport number), we kindly request you to inform us via email as soon as possible. The government reserves the right not to allow entry to any visitor whose data are not the exact ones as those in the official permit. PERU AGENCY excludes any responsibility for a no entry in case the passenger information has changed without prior notice to us.
