Day 01: Lima / Iquitos / Amazon River Lodge (L, D)

Your adventure begins the moment you land in Iquitos.
We take care of every detail to ensure a seamless transition from the city to the heart of deep Amazon Rainforest.
Receive a personalized briefing on our services, jungle “dos and don’ts,” and essential tips to ensure your stay is comfortable and safe.
We depart from the Port of Iquitos on a speedboat.
Along the way, witness the stunning convergence of the turbid brown Amazon River and the dark waters of the Nanay River.
Enjoy the view of rustic jungle landscapes and traditional riverside villages as we head deeper into the rainforest.
Stop at Monkey Island, a family-run social enterprise dedicated to protecting endangered species.
Unlike a zoo, you will see monkeys roaming free without cages as they under a process of reintegration into the wild.
(Note: During the dry season, we visit Fundo Pedrito).
Upon arrival at the lodge, enjoy a refreshing regional fruit drink.
After settling into your room, savor your first authentic Amazonian lunch.
Trek through the Yanamono Reserve with our expert guides and discover:
Giant trees, medicinal plants, and vibrant heliconias.

Look for Turkey Vultures, black-fronted nunbirds, and with luck, families of marmosets, titis, and squirrel monkeys.

After a breathtaking Amazon sunset, board a boat for a night excursion through the river’s tributaries.

With no artificial lights, listen to the “symphony of the jungle” and observe the nocturnal fauna along the riverbanks.

Under clear skies, admire the brilliant moonlight and the vivid constellations of the Southern Hemisphere.

Return to the lodge for a delicious dinner and a well-deserved rest.

Day 2: Amazon River Lodge (B,L,D)

A full day dedicated to discovering the secrets of the Amazon, from its vibrant wildlife at dawn to its ancient human traditions.
Start your day at dawn, navigating by boat to quiet streams where the jungle is most active.
Witness the morning feeding frenzy.
Look out for the colorful Ringed Kingfisher, the majestic Black-Collared Hawk, and the elegant Jacana.
Return to the lodge for a delicious and energizing breakfast.
Visit a riverside village to meet the Yaguas, one of the most iconic tribes of the Amazon.
Learn about their traditions, explore their homes, and see how they thrive in harmony with the river.
Participate in a demonstration of the “pucuna” (blowgun), their traditional hunting tool.
Set off on a traditional fishing expedition in a small tributary. Learn local techniques and, for the daring, try to catch a Piranha.
Keep your camera ready as we search for the legendary pink river dolphins, a magical species unique to these waters.
Return to the lodge for a fresh, regional lunch.
As the sun sets, join our night hike within the secure grounds of the lodge.
Experience the jungle’s dramatic shift as nocturnal creatures emerge.
This is the best time to spot vibrant tree frogs, shy snakes, and exotic insects.

Day 3: Amazon River Lodge/ Iquitos / Lima (B, L)

On your final day, discover one of the most iconic and impressive botanical wonders of the Amazon basin before heading back to the city.

 After a delicious breakfast, we navigate toward the quiet oxbow lakes of Yanamono Island.

Witness the Victoria Amazonica, the largest water lily in the world.

These plants are famous for their massive circular leaves, which are strong enough to support the weight of a small child.

If we are lucky, we will see their spectacular blooms.

These flowers open as pure white on the first night and magically transform into deep pink by the second day.

Learn about the fascinating relationship between these giants and the scarab beetles that pollinate them.

 Return to the lodge for one last authentic Amazonian lunch and complete your check-out process.

We board our speedboat for the final journey back to Iquitos City.

Our team will coordinate your transfer to the airport according to your flight schedule for your return to Lima.

What to Bring

To ensure a comfortable adventure in the heart of the Amazon, we recommend packing the following:

Waterproof raincoat or poncho, sunscreen, and high-quality insect repellent.

Flashlight (with rechargeable batteries), binoculars, and a reusable water bottle or canteen.

Light cotton clothes, long-sleeved shirts, swimwear and long pants (to protect against insects)

Moisture-resistant sneakers or hiking shoes.

Note: We provide rubber boots (wellies) at the lodge for jungle treks.

 A windbreaker or light jacket (temperatures can drop significantly during rain or on boat trips).

Essential Travel Recommendations

Luggage Management:

For your comfort during the boat transfer and your stay at the lodge, we highly recommend packing a small backpack or carry-on suitcase with only the essentials for your jungle stay.

Luggage Storage:

The rest of your large luggage will be kept in secure storage at our office in Iquitos for the duration of your trip, allowing you to travel light and enjoy the river journey.
