Arrival at Lima airport and private transfer to your hotel.
After breakfast, embark on a 3-hour panoramic and colonial Shared City Tour of Lima’s most representative sites. Explore the Historic Center, a UNESCO World Heritage site, including the Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the Cathedral, the Municipal Palace, and the Archbishop’s Palace. Continue to the Convent of Santo Domingo, one of the city’s best-preserved colonial buildings, where you can admire its cloisters, artwork, and the historic tower offering panoramic views of Lima’s old town.
At the end of the tour, return to your hotel for a free afternoon to explore Lima at your own pace. This tour provides a comprehensive and engaging overview of the city, combining history, architecture, and tradition.
After breakfast, you will be transferred from your hotel to Lima airport to board your flight to Cusco (flight not included). Upon arrival, receive assistance at the airport and a private transfer to your hotel to begin your experience in Peru’s historic capital.
In the afternoon, enjoy a shared guided tour of Cusco and four nearby archaeological sites. Begin at the Cusco Cathedral, renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship and its valuable collection of paintings from the Cusco School. Continue to the Temple of the Sun (Qoricancha), one of the most sacred Inca sites dedicated to the sun god, now incorporating the Convent of Santo Domingo.
Explore four archaeological complexes on the outskirts of the city. Start at Sacsayhuaman, famous for massive stone blocks up to 9 meters high and 120 tons perfectly fitted together. Visit Qenqo, an important ceremonial Inca center, followed by Puka Pukara, believed to have served administrative and military purposes. Conclude at Tambomachay, known for its intricate fountains and water channels, showcasing the Incas’ hydraulic mastery.
Return to Cusco and transfer to your hotel for rest.
After breakfast, you will be picked up early and transferred privately to the train station. After approximately 3.5 hours, arrive at Aguas Calientes, the town at the base of Machu Picchu. Meet your local guide and take the bus up to the Machu Picchu citadel, a 30-minute ride. Enjoy a private guided tour of approximately 2.5 hours, exploring and admiring this enigmatic wonder in detail.
After the visit, return by bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch at a local restaurant. Board the train back to Cusco, and upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for rest.
Note: To visit Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, it is recommended to spend a night in Aguas Calientes.
Between 4:30 and 5:30 a.m., you will be picked up from your hotel for the shared tour. After approximately 2 hours of travel, arrive at Cusipata, where you will enjoy a continental breakfast. Continue for 1.5 hours to the last village, the starting point for the Rainbow Mountain hike.
The hike takes about 3 hours round trip, including time to enjoy the scenery. If you prefer not to walk the full distance, you can rent a horse from local villagers; note that horses reach only 100 meters from the summit, so the final stretch must be walked. During the hike, enjoy spectacular views of multicolored mountains, grazing camelids, and the Ausangate mountain range, the highest peak in Cusco at 6,385 meters (20,958 ft).
After the hike, return to the restaurant for a typical lunch, then head back to Cusco, arriving between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m.
Important Notes:
The Rainbow Mountain tour can be replaced by Palccoyo Mountain, which is at a lower altitude and offers an easier walk.
To enhance your Rainbow Mountain experience, ATV rides are available (please check cost and availability).
Breakfast at the hotel. At the scheduled time, private transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima and onward connection.
