Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Puerto Maldonado – Madre de Dios River – Tambopata Lodge (L, D)
Reception at the Puerto Maldonado airport and transfer to the pier.
Motorized canoe trip (25 min) toward the lodge, enjoying your first encounter with the sounds of the jungle.
Upon arrival, enjoy a buffet lunch featuring fresh, local ingredients from the region.
After lunch, join a guided hike along natural trails to learn about the primary and secondary forest, its medicinal uses, and its global ecological importance.
At sunset, enjoy a canoe excursion to observe the nocturnal ecosystem, caimans, and the stunning constellations of the Southern Hemisphere.
Upon the group’s return, a freshly prepared dinner will be served in the lodge’s dining room.

Day 02: Excursion for the Sandoval Lake and Canopy Walkway Experience (B, L , D)
Buffet breakfast at the lodge’s dining room.
Hike through the Tambopata National Reserve toward this iconic lake.
Canoe navigation to search for giant river otters, macaws, howler monkeys, and the prehistoric paiche (arapaima).
Ascent to 30-meter towers to walk across 7 canopy bridges among the treetops.
A unique opportunity to spot toucans, sloths, and squirrel monkeys from above.
Walkway tour over the aguajales (swamp palm forests), a fascinating ecosystem full of energy.
Night exploration on foot to discover insects and mammals that only emerge in the darkness.
The group returns to the lodge for dinner.

Day 03: Cultural Experiences & Lodge Lagoon Navigation
Buffet breakfast in the lodge’s dining room.
Visit to a local farm to learn about ancestral Amazonian agricultural techniques and taste fresh organic produce.
Discovery of the “natural pharmacy,” exploring the jungle’s medicinal plants used by local communities.
Afternoon canoe ride on a private lagoon with an optional native fishing experience (catch and release) to spot exotic birds like the Hoatzin (locally known as Shansho).
Visit to the remains of the “Fitzcarraldo” shipwreck, famous for inspiring the classic adventure film.
Wildlife observation from hidden blinds to watch animals during their nocturnal feeding routines.

Day 04: Puerto Maldonado & Return home.
Breakfast featuring tropical seasonal fruits.
Before heading to the airport, visit a Butterfly House to learn about the amazing metamorphosis of local species.
Transfer to the airport for your connection flight.
