Overview

We will visit the archaeological capital of the Americas, Cusco, as well as Machu Picchu, and take the Rainbow Mountain tour.

After traveling through valleys and mountains aboard the tourist train, we will arrive at Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Finally, we will visit Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca), famous for its striking colors.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Cusco – Walking Tour.

Arrival in Cusco, reception, and transfer to the hotel.

In the afternoon, we will begin a walking tour of the city with our guide. Our first stop will be the San Pedro Market, where you can explore fresh produce, spices, and traditional local dishes.

Next, we will visit the Temple of the Sun, Qoricancha, admiring its Inca architecture and the temples dedicated to the Moon, Rainbow, Stars, Lightning, and Thunder, reflecting the rich Inca cosmology. We will stroll through the traditional streets of Cusco, full of stories and legends, until we reach the famous 12-Angled Stone, an impressive example of Inca stonework precision.

We will conclude in the traditional artisan area in the San Blas neighborhood, home to master artisans who preserve ancestral techniques in weaving, pottery, and metallurgy, offering a complete vision of Cusco’s culture and tradition. After the visit, we will return to the hotel.

Day 02: Excursion to Machu Picchu – Full Day (B, L)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Early in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the train station to board the train to Aguas Calientes.

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our representative, who will assist you with boarding the bus to the entrance of Machu Picchu. The tour of the citadel will be guided by a private guide, allowing you to explore one of the greatest expressions of Inca architecture, which, in addition to offering spectacular landscapes, showcases a rich endemic diversity of flora and fauna.

After the tour, with free time for photos, we will return by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes for a delicious lunch. Finally, we will take the train back to Cusco, where you will be picked up at the train station and transferred to your hotel.

Day 03: Excursion to Rainbow Mountain Vinicunca (B, L)

We will collect you from your hotel in Cusco at 4:00 AM to begin our adventure.

Our journey takes us southeast, passing through Cusipata ($3,339$ meters / $10,968$ feet) until we reach the small village of Llacto.

Along the way, you can observe herds of alpacas and llamas amidst the region’s unique high-altitude vegetation.

From this point, we will begin a trek of approximately 2.5 hours.

You will enjoy breathtaking landscapes with majestic snow-capped mountains as your backdrop until reaching the summit of the famous Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca).

We will spend about one hour at the peak, allowing ample time to rest and capture photos of the exquisite scenery.

Following your visit to the summit, we will begin the descent, which takes approximately 1.5 hours.

Upon returning to the village, we will board our transportation back to Cusipata to enjoy a delicious traditional lunch.

Later, we will continue our journey back to the city of Cusco, with an expected arrival around 6:00 PM.

Day 04:Departure from Cusco (B)

Breakfast at the hotel in Cusco.

At the scheduled time, transfer to the airport for your return flight.
